*The Power of Prayer*

The power of prayer is awesome

Full of healing energy,

Proven in science labs, and churches

For those with eyes to see.

Kneeling is not subservient

It has a special role,

The energy at this level

Benefits body and soul.

Should we say our prayers aloud

It is a better choice,

Angels and the spirit world

Love to hear our voice.

BALLYHEIGUE ATHLETIC F.C.: U-13 Result Ballyheigue athletic 6 and
Castleisland 2. Great display from the boys on Saturday. Carried a great
attitude into this game and played some very enjoyable football. We opened
the scoring after five minutes when Jordan Goggin finished well to beat a
good Castleisland goalie. Next it was Castleisland s turn to test the
Ballyheigue defence and they took a good chance to level the game. But
after this Ballyheigue never looked back and got two more great goals.
Thanks to Padraig Woods and a Tomas Gaynor volley that involved some fine
build up play from a lively Ballyheigue team. Half time 3-1. In the
second half Ballyheigue involved Ciaran Casey for Luke McCrohan and he
added great strength in the centre of defence Castleisland had an advantage
with a breeze at their backs, but this didn’t contribute to the outcome and
Tomas Gaynor again produced the goods to chip the ball over two defenders
and a goalie who was caught in no man’s land. Jordan Goggin made it five
when he headed home a Tomas Gaynor cross, but credit to Castleisland who
pulled out back on the counter attack. Sean Sheehan made it six to close
the proceedings.

ATHLETIC FC: U-13 Results –Ballyheigue 10 & 0 St. Brendan’s Park ‘C’

In the very first minute Sean Sheehan made a run midfield beating the
Park’s defence before pulling the ball back across the goals for Conor
O’Sullivan to get proceeding underway. The Park did well to hold their own
for the next 20 minutes before Tomás Gaynor put us two in front, then
O’Sullivan bagged two more to complete this hat trick and a Luke McCrohan
strike to the roof of the net made it 5.0 going in at half-time. Park
threatened early in the 2nd half and continued to play the game in a fair
manner and give the game a spirited effort, but Ballyheigue began to run
the bench and Jordan Goggin added 2 more to Park’s misery. Sean Sheehan
closed out the game with 2 more goals before assisting David O’Mahony to
fire home Ballyheigue’s 10th and put another deserving 3 points on the
board. A special thanks to everyone who gave the players lifts to the game
and helped support them on Saturday morning.

ATHLETIC FC U-13 RESULT: Dingle Bay Rovers 0 – 2 Ballyheigue Athletic

Ballyheigue made the long trip to Dingle worthwhile but were made work
extremely hard to come away with the result they wanted. Both sides had
chances, but Ballyheigue opened the scoring just before half time when
Jordan Goggin found the net. They were fortunate to be ahead at half
time. In the 2nd half Dingle where not going to give up without a fight
and only for some excellent saves by Seamie Foran and some heroic defending
by Ballyheigue backs, they wouldn’t have got the result. Sean Sheehan
secured the victory with 5 minutes to go when he put Ballyheigue 2 nil up.
This was a great win for the team.

COURSING LOTTO: The following numbers were drawn on Monday 8th December in
the Ballyheigue & District Coursing club: 18-19-20-21. Jackpot was not

Reidy , Kitty Brennan and Vincent McKenna, C/o John B. Next week’s Jackpot
€2,700.
